Mental Lapse

It’s a temporary situation, I was told
By a man with a vacant stare
It was driving me spare
I went back to my room
The one I was conceived in
During the baby boom
That wartime shagging spree
Me as collateral damage
But I’m getting off the point
There was one, wasn’t there?
Ah yes….
I remember he said it wouldn’t last
The war? No, the scar
From a brawl in a bar,
Though I don’t drink, I think
I’m not really sure
Of anything, anymore
